Ever since I posted about the benefit of having Fred Thompson as a vice precedential candidate, the left wing media has been on the attack about the personal life of Senator Thompson. They sum it up best over at Draft Fred Thompson
Unlike Newt and Rudy, Thompson’s second marriage did not overlap with his first wife. Thompson and Sara Lindsey divorced in 1985. He didn’t meet Jeri Kehn until 1996 and they married in 2002.Fred Thompson is a family values guy and someone who would serve this country well as a vice president.

Why are the socialist left, Joe Scarborough and the blogging world drooling over the fact Fred has a younger wife??? FWIW, I really want to know! Also, where is the outrage over Joe Scarborough???

My guess is that they are upset that he has been able to stay married (as opposed to say McCain or Giuliani) and they are just throwing out whatever mud they can. When an older woman marries a younger man that crowd cheers (think Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher)!!! The arguments they use are simply inconsistent, they will use anything they can to push themselves up in the polls, unlike Senator Thompson or Vice President Cheney who are not running for precedent out of self gratification, but rather they serve the American people.
