"Wizard" Unable to Use Science to Defy God's Plan

Don Herbert, TV's Mr. Wizard, died this week.
From 1951 through 1964, Herbert's show, "Watch Mr. Wizard," aroused the curiosity of children and demystified scientific principles on a set built like a simple workshop. Adopting an informal style, Herbert used familiar household items such as cans, straws, and paper plates in his lab experiments. Boys and girls served as his on-air assistants.

The show was briefly revived in the 1970s, and then again in the 1980s, after Herbert revamped it for the Nickelodeon channel.
Many children "learned" about the "facts" of science from this gentleman. Mr. Wizard used his television programs in order to "teach" kids about the "benefits" of science. He made science look easy. Of course it looked easy, it is after all all based on theories. For some, science answers everything, however, science was not able to intervene when God came calling. May God have mercy on his soul.

If only he'd lived long enough to visit the Creation Museum...

So Ohio, did he teach science, or was it some kind of hocus- pocus?
Unlike religion, science is based on observable and tangible evidence. (As anyone who ever watched Mr. Science could attest to) Not superstition and ridiculous
ideas of a long bearded overseer, that no one has ever seen! Even in thee old testament god was a "burning bush" or some abstract "voice' from above.

Watch the video at my blog and you'll learn what the word demystify really means.

tree: If only he had, he'd laugh his ass off at you morons!

If a moron is one who believes in the infallible word of God then yes, I'm a moron!

american scot,
He taught both science and hocus pocus, because in reality they are the same thing. Just because you do not physically observe something does not mean it is not there. Can anyone observe the thoughts taking place in your head right now? No. Does that mean they are not there? No. Can anyone see wind? No. Does that mean that it is not there? No. Just as with thoughts and wind, both of which cannot be seen with the naked eye, God works on another level. You cannot see wind, but you can see its effects, you cannot see God, but you can see his effects.

Hocus-pocus eh?
Well you'd better not use your computer anymore.
That darned micro-processor is the devils work!

tree: Infallible?

The Bible on rape:
" If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her."(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)

So, if your daughter was raped you'd make her marry the creep that violated her? No, you'd want him strung up by his balls, from the highest tree!

The Bible on Slavery and punishment:
"When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property." (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

Beat em within an inch of their lives, just don't kill em!

american scot,
Unfortunately you have failed to understand the true scope of the Bible. When Jesus Christ died for our sins he made those specific rules no longer applicable to those of the Christian faith.

Thank you, OhNeco, I was afraid to respond to this one because American Scot made a reference to a man's tender bits "down there" and I'm too much of a lady to write about that (let alone know what to do with them)!

Liberals are such angry people and they have NO manners.

tree,
I am glad to be of help, no proper Christian gentleman would have put a lady such as yourself in such a position as to see such nasty words.

Thanks Ohio Necon for clearing up some issues that have bugged me. :)

I didn't know about that contrast.

Makes me more and more not feel so guilty for beliving in Jesus while the other hypocrites follow the *broad path*
